The idea of a marker/symbol of engagement appeals to me (as does the idea of tweaking gendered norms). I'm not otherwise terribly ornamentally inclined, so this feels like a good one-exception for her. I've seen suggestions online of "Eventual-wedding-ring on right hand, swap hands at the ceremony", which sounds particularly appealing, though I haven't seen anything consistent about where this might be common or how common it might be.
Within the United States, about how well would this be received/understood? Assume that my partner is entirely fine with this concept.
If there's anything big I'm not thinking of on this topic which I should keep in mind, I'd love to hear that as well.
